FIFA commissioned the design of a new platinum-coated trophy to honour The Best at the inaugural The Best FIFA Football Awards™. Here are the winners of each of the Women's FIFA World Cup events since the first in 1991. Germany and the US have each won two Women's World Cups. Japan's win in 2011 was the first Asian team to win a FIFA World Cup (including both men and women).

The 2018 FIFA World Cup final in Russia final took place on July 15 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium. It was the 21st time a champion was crowned and just the 12th time the FIFA World Cup trophy was awarded.
